BS12 Self-Clinching Ball Studs


  • Provide a permanent, reliable self-clinching installation that creates a flush appearance on the back side of aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel sheets.
  • Mount in Sheet 2 and accommodate Sheet 1 thicknesses from .025"-.256" (0.64-6.50mm), with multiple length codes available to match the panel stack-up.
  • Install by squeezing the ball stud head and sheet between parallel punch and anvil surfaces until the flange seats flush with the sheet.
  • Require a prepared sheet hole at least .37" (9.4mm) from the hole center to the sheet edge, with no deburring of the hole edges before installation.
  • Available in heat-treated carbon steel, 300-series stainless steel, and heat-treated 400-series stainless steel for use in sheet hardnesses up to HRB 70, HRB 80, or HRB 88 depending on material selection.
  • Deliver average destructive push-out values up to 230 lbs. in 5052-H32 aluminum, 360 lbs. in 1008 carbon steel, and 470 lbs. in 304 stainless steel when installation specifications are strictly followed.
