Advantages

Tension mounted push pins are a very popular attachment method. Usually designed into board level application these ABS push pins have ledges that lock between the board and the heatsink to maintain pressure on the PCB. This allows for rapid attachment and removal of the heatsink, along with a captive type locking mechanism that allows the push pin to stay attached to the heatsink while disengaging from the PCB.
