Fabrication Capabilities
Pencom’s ability to engineer locally and manufacture globally provides our customers with cost savings and time advantages that are unique to our industry. Pencom has manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico and Asia. Pencom's capabilities include precision machining, milling, turning, screw machining, die casting and stamping for prototype and high volume production.

Precision Turning

Pencom has extensive experience in precision turning for both prototype and production requirements. Our state of the art CNC lathes and finishing equipment provide Pencom technicians the capability to craft metal and plastic to the most rigorous production requirements. Pencom engineering staff can assist in developing component parts to their most cost effective and practical manufacturing designs.

Stamping

For higher volume applications, Pencom may recommend metal component parts be stamped for lowest cost and greater efficiency. Our engineering department has considerable experience in the design and fabrication of progressive die and multi-slide metal stampings for a variety of materials. Our Asia production facilities offer the lowest cost, high quality parts with the most economical tooling expense. Stamping

Automatic Screw Machining

Pencom has several of our manufacturing plants substantially dedicated to screw machining of metal and plastic component parts. After prototyping on a CNC lathe, many medium to high volume parts can be screw machined in production to cut costs but deliver the top quality of precision turning. Pencom technical staff is highly experienced in the design and manufacturing of screw-machined components. Automatic Screw Machining

Die Casting / Injection Molding

When complicated geometry dictates that machining is not a practical production process, Pencom often recommends die-casting (metal) or injection molding (plastic) as the most effective solution. With over 20 years of design experience, Pencom has continuously solved customer component opportunities with these manufacturing processes. After various prototyping techniques, Pencom can provide your production requirements from any of our facilities worldwide. Die Casting / Injection Molding

Machining / Multi-axis Milling

Several of our production facilities feature CNC machining centers for both prototype and production work on metals and plastics. Three, four and five axis vertical mills, as well as, high production horizontal mills are available to manufacture customer and Pencom assisted designs. Ultra-tight tolerances can be held whereas other manufacturing processes cannot without secondary machining. Machining / Multi-axis Milling

Die Cutting

Pencom has offered custom die cutting of sheet, roll and foam materials for only a few years but already has developed a considerable amount of design and manufacturing expertise. Whether it be electrical insulation, baffles / ducting, gaskets, shielding products, etc., Pencom engineers can design or improve the existing design of even highly complex parts. Multi-layered, registered, adhesive backed or assembled products are commonplace at our cost conscious Asia manufacturing location. Die Cutting

Wire EDM

For intricate profiles and tight contours or difficult to machine, exotic metals, Pencom offers wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) in our temperature controlled Southern California manufacturing plant. For prototype or production, wire EDM can through-cut simple or complex 2D shapes providing a virtually burr-less, ultra-high tolerance metal part. Cutouts, thin walls and even stacked tool steel are simple work for this highly accurate and waste-reducing technology. Wire EDM

Custom Heatsinks

Our thermal engineering team has designed countless custom heat sinks for a sizeable portion of our customer base. Using whatever manufacturing techniques to produce the best thermal solution at the most acceptable cost, Pencom can quickly analyze, design, prototype, test and manufacture custom heat sinks, both in North America and abroad. Using our specially developed thermal software, Pencom can cut weeks out of an already extensive development cycle. Custom Heatsinks
